HydroFix HFX120 Repair Reviews

Have two of these, June 30, 2010

Lots of good reviews here, so I won't repeat what others have said but to say that it installs very easy, the bowl fill tube is infinity adjustable for flow. Love the clicking mechanism for the screw ring on the bottom of the tank. And you can adjust the height of the fill valve very easily, as long as there is room to reach down the side of the fill valve.

Why didn’t I think of that?, June 14, 2010

This one took a bit longer to install than its dual flush counterpart, but after that just three full flushes removed who knows how many years of rusty sediment from our main toilet tank and now ensures no more ever accumulates. Just note that valve's locknut beneath the tank may also be beneath the waterline of your emptied tank - use a bucket.

Looking to save water this is a must have, June 14, 2010

Came across this while researching the same companys dual flush valve. Finding out that my old toilet wastes about 200 gallons of water every day, because old style fill valves fill the tank and bowl at the same rate, the bowl fills guicker being smaller, thus all the excess goes right down the drain. With the Hydroclean fill valve there is an adjustment that allows you to fill the bowl at a slower rate. With just a few trys bowl and tank get full at the same time.Plus with the cleaning tube each time tank fills bottom of the tank is cleaned. Installation is real easy with clear instructions. With a little adjustment you'll be saving water with every flush. I purchased 2 fill valves along with 2 of the dual flush valves. With less water used on each flush and the bowl and tank filling at the same rate, I know I'm saving water. Ads say a family of 4 can save between 10 and 15 thousand gallons a year. I would highly recommend both.

Easy to Use and Highly Adjustable for Maximum Water Savings, March 02, 2010

For a few dollllars more than your standard tank repair kit, I purchased this one. It promised a few key benefits, and delivered on them.

Some of the features advertised on this kit are standard with a normal kit:
1. Setting the amount of water that fills the tank - this is done the same way as a normal kit, by adjusting the height of the float with a screw - easy as cake.
2. Water savings on a flush - this is a bit debateable since any new fill valve will save water over what's wasted by a broken one.
3. Flapper - the flapper in this kit is nothing special. Feels kind of flimsy actually, but it gets the job done.

Some of the unique features offered by this kit:
1. Calibrating the amount of water that goes into the bowl through the fill tube - This is the best reason to buy this kit. With a simple lever you can adjust the fill amount to a reasonable level. My toilet was from 1984, and wasted a lot of water by overfilling the bowl every time. The amount of water I save with just this adjustment will pay for the kit in no time.

2. Tank Cleaner - A neat little feature, it basically sprays water around the tank to clear out any debris and help prevent anything from growing there. I had a lot of small pebbles in the tank that had accumulated over the years, and within 3-4 flushes it had pushed all of them into a nice little cluster next to the flapper, and they all were flushed away quickly.

3. Fill lock - This isn't fancy but it gets the job done. it's a small piece of plastic that allows you to lock the pump in the "off/raised" setting and prevent the tank from refilling while you are adjusting the flapper, changing the pump height, or whatever else you need to do.

4. Easy installation - No tools required and took me about 10 minutes to install, and I was pretty careful. Totally painless.

I haven't had a chance to use the leak detection feature yet (and hopefully won't ever have to).

Overall I think this kit is great, offering a lot of extras you won't find on a normal repair kit. The high level of adjustability will likely offset the higher cost of this kit in the long run. Highly recommended.

It works perfectly,

1. Very easy to install. No tools is needed to attach the fill valve to the tank. (Depends on your water supply, you might need tools to attach your water supply to the fill valve)

2. The Flapper is floppy (Which is good. My last flapper was solid and water constantly leaks into the bowl).
