Our planet’s dwindling water supply will be one of the single greatest challenges facing mankind. One-sixth of the world’s population currently lives without sufficient drinking water. That’s over a billion people worldwide, today. The United Nations estimates that this number will rise over 500% by 2025, saying that 5.5 billion, or two-thirds of the world’s population will experience water shortages.

The problem is expected to get exponentially worse over the next century affecting even the United States. By 2013, 36 states are expecting local, regional, and statewide water shortages even under non-drought conditions, according to the United States General Accounting Office. The time is now to do something serious about the coming water crisis or we may not get another chance.
